BMW Group Plant Leipzig has once again been awarded OHRIS certification, after Saxony's commercial inspectorate recognised the success of its occupational health and safety management. The certificate was presented by Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport Martin Tobias Dulig, who came to the plant in person to hand it over. Dulig praised the plant’s long-standing commitment to its associates, and described as exemplary the early recognition and swift elimination of sources of risk and danger. Citing examples, he referred to the plant’s defined processes, accident prevention standards, and many projects for improving workplace ergonomics and maintaining associates’ health.

Occupational safety has been certified at Plant Leipzig since 2006. In March 2016, the focus was on BMW i production. The latest certification is valid for another three years.
