Strong social commitment in Berlin region.
In a world where people and cultures are increasingly connected and face new social challenges as a result, it is more important than ever for global companies to acknowledge and embrace their social responsibility. Targeted, sustainable commitment is part of the BMW Group’s identity as a company.
This is one reason why we actively engage with the region at BMW Group Plant Berlin. We serve as a financial supporter and co-initiator, working with strong partners to develop solutions in the fields of education, social justice, health and sustainability.
In 2019, BMW Group Plant Berlin made donations totalling almost 20,000 euros, with its employees participating in a range of different assistance projects. This commitment focused on the following projects:
Berliner Krebsgesellschaft (Berlin Cancer Society) – Monetary donation for charitable work supporting cancer patients and their relatives.
Berliner Tafel food bank: BMW employees help volunteers collecting food items for people in need at the Fruit Logistica trade show.
Elisabethstift foundation – Monetary donation and work efforts supporting “Social Day”: BMW employees and members of the plant management assist the Berlin-based youth organisation at its family farm in Lübars.
Kinderhilfe Berlin e.V. – Monetary donation to the Kinderhilfe e.V. organisation, which offers advice and information on practical everyday matters to families of seriously ill children and teenagers.
SOS Children’s Village Berlin Moabit – Monetary and material donations enabling a raffle to be held at our big employee and family day. The SOS Children’s Village Berlin Moabit uses all the receipts for child and youth welfare and, especially, improving young people’s job qualifications.
