Talent development and innovation.
Collaboration with universities, technical colleges, research facilities and technology clusters has a high priority for BMW Group Plant Steyr.
We have also developed customised programmes for entry to and promotion within our company and provide a large number of internships for university and college students. Many up-and-coming scientists gain the practical experience they need and write their dissertation at BMW Group Plant Steyr.
It is also important to us to get children and teenagers interested in technology from an early age. We offer special guided tours for school classes, for example, and host the "HiTec!" event format for school pupils about to make vocational choices. We are especially pleased that 20% of our apprentices in the technical field are now female. Most 12-14-year-olds attending the "HiTec!" event find the world of BMW fascinating and view the company as an attractive career prospect. In this way, we are able to deepen their curiosity about technical professions and, in some cases, even awaken a completely new interest. We currently have more than 100 apprentices training in five occupations.
