WHERE INNOVATION MEETS TRADITION.

imageAlt

The electric and special engines production unit combines innovation and tradition in a very unique way: It produces special and replacement engines for all power trains currently installed in BMW Group vehicles – up to the 12-cylinder V12 engine for Rolls‑Royce. With drive trains ranging from the 1970s all the way to current series engines, experienced employees produce around 25,000 engines a year, with approximately 700 variants, for workshops and collectors all over the world. The special engine production team also builds remanufactured engines, which are bought back from customers when a replacement is made and rebuilt with the addition of new parts.

This wealth of engine know-how also benefits production of electric motors and engine-transmission units for MINI.
