San Luis Potosi, Mexico, August 17, 2016.- BMW Group confirms its presence in San Luis Potosi with its participation in one of the most important events in the state: the Potosina National Fair (FENAPO) 2016. The BMW Group Plant in San Luis Potosi will participate with a stand at the Industrial Pavilion, where visitors can learn about the project, as well as see vehicles on display and attend the recruitment day on Saturday, August 20.

During the FENAPO, which began on Friday, August 12 and ended on Sunday, September 4, the BMW Group Plant will exhibit a 2017 BMW 340i M Sport, similar to the one that will be produced in 2019 when the plant starts operations in the entity. Likewise, BMW Group will be present at the stand of the Government of the State of San Luis Potosi with the display of a 2017 BMW X5 M Sport.

On the first day of the FENAPO, the Governor of the State of San Luis Potosi, Dr. Juan Manuel Carreras López accompanied by the Governor of the State of Chiapas Lic. Manuel Velasco Coello visited the stand of the BMW Group Plant in San Luis Potosi, giving testimony of the commitment of the company with the potosina society and the promotion of employment with the activities of recruitment in the region. In this act they were accompanied by Lourdes Quijas, Human Resources Director of the BMW Group Plant in San Luis Potosi.

On Saturday, August 20, a recruitment area will be set up on the stand of the BMW Group Plant, where general information about the positions currently available to candidates interested in collaborating with the company will be given. Likewise, job applications will be received for the Paint and Assembly areas of the plant, specifically for the positions of Machine Controllers and Maintenance Technicians.

"With our participation in the FENAPO we seek to continue promoting the jobs that the plant offers, as well as awakening the interest of belonging to the new generation of employees of the BMW Group San Luis Potosi Plant," said Lourdes Quijas.

In December 2014, the BMW Group signed the first local contracts in the area of human resources, which allowed to start the project of the plant in San Luis Potosi.  

In January 2015 a new online portal was launched to announce vacancies http://www.bmwplantarh.com.mx/bmwplantarh/en/index.html and since then, job offers have been published. Likewise, a year ago, three office areas were installed within the city of San Luis Potosi: a human resources and recruitment center started operations in the heart of the city; also in the industrial area, a temporary training center is being prepared for the staff; finally, activities began in the industrial park for the management offices to coordinate construction.

San Luis Potosi is an ideal location for the company and will represent an important area within the BMW Group production network, which is why one billion dollars will be invested in the manufacturing site in the coming years. The production of the new generation of the BMW 3 Series is planned to start in 2019 and during that year, the workforce will reach 1,500 people. In the medium term, additional work will be created on the site of this new productive settlement of the BMW Group and around.
