BMW Manufacturing Announces Management Change.

Spartanburg, S.C. BMW Manufacturing announced today that Oliver Haase has been named the new Senior Vice President for Purchasing, Quality and Supplier Network Americas. He is responsible for quality and supplier development for the entire North and South America region. Mr. Haase replaces Murat Aksel, who has left the company.

Mr. Haase has been with the BMW Group since 2000. He started his career as a Quality Specialist at Plant Dingolfing in Germany, but moved to Plant Spartanburg in late 2001 where he worked for more than five years as a Quality Specialist and Group Leader for Quality Management in the areas of engine, chassis, body and communications electronics. Since 2007, Mr. Haase has worked in a variety of roles in Quality Management including as Vice President Quality Management (Parts) in Beijing, China, where he carried joint responsibility for Supplier Development within the entire purchased parts spectrum in Asia. Most recently, Mr. Haase was Vice President Purchasing, Quality and Production Seat and Seat Components in Munich.

BMW Manufacturing currently produces more than 1,500 vehicles each day, exporting about 70 percent of these models to more than 125 global markets. The model portfolio includes five top-selling BMW X models, four Motorsport X models and two plug-in hybrid electric X models. The factory has a production capacity of 450,000 vehicles and employs more than 11,000 people.
